- Yes, try stripping out all the non-standard bits of your startup sequence
- and user-startup. You should probably remove all the entries on WBStartup as
- well. If it comes up okay, add each item in, one at a time until you get the
- problem back.

-
- No, it's not the address, it's the error number. You need to get both of the
- numbers that the GURU message contains and see if they are consitant.
-

-
- There are a couple of other features you should look for.
-
- When you reboot (Crtl-A-A) you should get a 'colourburst'. If you don't get
- that then the board is malfunctioning badly.
-
- What kind of memory have you got on the Cyberstorm? It *needs* 60ns RAM.
-
- If you can't fix it any other way, put a couple of lines in your
- startup-sequence file to turn off all the CPU caches. If the problem goes
- away you need to send it back and get a replacement. Oh, expect it to be a
- *lot* slower running without caches (slower than a 25MHz 030).
-
- >Thanks very much, these crashes are driving me nuts !!!
-
- I don't want to worry you, but this sounds like the trouble I had (though
- not quite). I had to send the board back and ended up with a replacement CPU
- card. It seems to work okay now, though I haven't really had a chance to
- bash it hard since I got it back.
-
- The symptoms I had were constant crashes after about 15 minutes of use.
- Crashes on startup which would often happen repeatedly until the machine was
- powered off and on again. The machine would 'forget' assignments all of a
- sudden, like not knowing what uumail: meant in the middle of using Elm.
-
- Good luck. The speed-up is wonderful when it's all working properly.
